Piper products are cast from 8620 steel that contains nickel, chrome and molybdenum as alloying elements. The tools have a Rockwell "C" level of 58-62.
The Piper Backup Wrench is cast at a foundry in Muskegon Michigan, and then machined and
heat treated. A black oxided finnish is given to all the tools. All of the Pipers Backup Wrench
components - rings, ball plunger, socket cup, and eyebolts - are made in the USA, and absolutely
nothing on the Piper is made out of the USA.
